Steps Use the "Autofill" feature to Download songs to your iPod shuffle or move songs manually. Downloading Music to your iPod shuffle - Use the iPod shuffle Dock to connect to a USB port on your computer.
- The first time you connect iPod shuffle to your computer, the iPod Setup Assistant will appear (here you can name your iPod).
- Click the "Autofill from" pull down menu to select a playlist, then click the "Autofill" button to transfer songs from the selected playlist.
- You can also add songs, playlists, audiobooks or podcasts manually to your iPod shuffle by dragging them to your iPod in the Source pane.
- While music is being transferred, you'll see a Do Not Disconnect message in iTunes.
- When your transfers are complete, you can eject your iPod shuffle by clicking the eject icon next to the iPod shuffle in the Source pane.
- Now you can disconnect the iPod shuffle from your computer.
Turn your iPod shuffle on and off with the switch on the top of the iPod shuffle. Playing Music on your iPod shuffle - Turn on your iPod shuffle by moving the switch on the top to the "On" position (opposite to the "Off" position). You will know that your iPod is turned on when you see the green light next to the switch.
- Press the Play/Pause button on the front.
- You can advance to the next song by pressing the Next/Fast-forward button on the right, or press the Previous/Rewind button to go back to the beginning of a song or a previous song.
- If you would like to change the volume, press the Volume Up button on the top of the circle, or the Volume Down button at the bottom.
- When you are done, slide the switch on the back to the Off position.
